Best Rome Hotels

"For a 4-star hotel, it doesn't provide basic amenities like toiletries. Also the rooms don't have enough power outlets. I had to unplug the TV and the Kettle to plug in our mobile chargers. The room provided to us initially was having a foul smell which didn't go away despite the cleaning. Finally they did switch us to a new room for our final night of stay but we had to suffer the smell for 3 nights. Overall a sour experience. Positives: Staff: The staff was good and tried to switch us to a new room as soon as we reported the issue but unfortunately the hotel was fully booked Location: Located close to Roma Termini. The Colosseum is just 15 minutes away by foot. Also there are many decent restaurants nearby."

"The hotel is 2 minutes walk, very close to the main trains station Roma Termini. Surrounded by restaurants, there are also bountiful of shops and a conad supermarket in the Station Termini. Bus and metro are also super convenient, metro station just in termini, bus stops are all around. The rooms are clean and not small. The concierge has good English and nice attitude."

"My first impressions of Stromboli were positive. I was greeted by reception staff and the hotel is central and easy to find. There are some interesting collections of artefacts in the lobby. The lift feels a bit wobbly but it’s quick and efficient. The room was a good size, cool and clean. It is a budget hotel and it certainly fits the budget scene. It’s very good value for money as it is very comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable. It was a double bed, I was a single traveller. I had air conditioning. There were no mosquitoes in the room. The window had wooden covers so you could not get the sun in the morning waking you up. I didn’t have a view. The window opened to let air in. The bathroom was small but had everything I needed. The room was cleaned daily and new towels added and toiletries topped up. I decided to stay longer because it was so good value for central Rome. It is no frills, but for a central and safe stay I thought it was very good value and would stay here again. Its central position and closeness to the museums and galleries made it a very god choice. Very short walk to the train station. I would definitely stay here again, great value for money!"

"This was my second time staying at the Cross hotel. The hotel is situated in a good location, right next door to the ruins of the old aqueducts, and is near the Colosseum in the old part of the town. The hotel rooms were tidy and clean both times I stayed there, and I was pleased with the daily change of towels! Breakfast was good also. I’ll definitely choose this hotel during my next stay in Rome!"

"Stayed here for 2 nights, you get what you pay for but for me the location was.more important, the rooms are clean but old and dated however our room was huge with a nice balcony which was nice, the bathroom had a big shower as well. However the beds were not very comfortable, upon arriving in our room our bed wasn't made up, but once mentioned it was rectified very quickly. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, we felt very welcome and looked after. The only downside is that there isn't a readily available lift, so you need to use stairs (there is a lift they will let you use to bring your luggage up only) Also we were not aware until we got to the property that air conditioning was not included and we had to pay extra $5 euro per night, a bit unusual but as it was scorching hot we were happy to pay. The staff even let me store my bag there whilst I went to nice for a few days so I really appreciated their customer service. Big plus was it was close to a lot of things and Roma termini is within walking distance or a very short bus ride."

"The room was a tad on the small side, comparable to some Japanese hotel rooms, but it was perfectly sufficient for two. If you're traveling with large luggage, fully opening suitcases might be a bit of a squeeze. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel's location, right by the train station, is incredibly convenient for public transport. It's just a 5-minute walk to the hotel from the train station if you're arriving from the airport. Also, there's a delicious crispy pork panini place nearby. A little tip: the bread can be a bit tough, so you might consider just buying the pork filling and putting it in your own bread later!"

"Hotel is a little old but clean. The location is excellent. Close to roma termini train station and metro. Quite a number of eateries nearby. The hotel provides water dispenser within its property, since it does not provide bottled water. Very environmental friendly."

"The accommodations were great! The location was far from the main city centers of Rome, but there was a shuttle bus to and from. However, my group usually wanted to stay longer than when the bus would leave. Overall, a great stay."

"Big spacious room, tiny but comfortable bathroom. The room was clean, as you can see there are only some scuff marks from the trolleys of the people previously occupying the room. The location is good. Near a lot of restaurants, near the station but in a safe area, and with a metro station nearby. The only negative thing, no traditional bidet. The staff is super nice and accommodating. Really a positive experience overall for us. We will definitely be back."
